Name: Eliza Trowbridge

Age: 16

School/Grade: 11th

Interests/Hobbies: Riding and spending time with my horse, playing soccer, reading, playing the piano, and going to church with friends and family.

Earliest memory of Syrup Festival: When I was 3, my brother put me in the “jail” on Main Street.

Desire for representing  Maple Syrup Festival: The Vermontville Maple Syrup Festival is my favorite time of year. I have been dreaming of becoming queen since my very first festival when I was three years old. The festival is an event that raises money for many people in Vermontville, and it also raises the spirits of everyone who comes. I love how the Vermontville Maple Syrup Festival brings together so many different types of people. Representing a festival that helps my town financially, makes people happy, creates opportunities for friendships that will last forever, and of course is all about delicious maple syrup is truly a dream come true.

Biggest Inspiration: Jesus Christ

Favorite food with Maple Syrup involved: Maple cream on top of vanilla ice cream and maple root beer.

Favorite charitable cause: The Communication Alliance to Network Thoroughbred Ex-Racehorses (CANTER) “works to provide retiring racehorses with opportunities for new careers by helping to place, rehabilitate, and retrain thoroughbred athletes.” CANTER has a great website where you can find affordable ex-racehorses ready to get their special person and become a “normal” horse. https://www.canterusa.org

Career/college interests: Undecided, but horses are definitely going to be a part of my life whether my career is horse related or not.
